Social Feed, Feature Refinement & More | LikeMinds Jan’25

Think about the apps you use daily, what keeps you coming back to them? Whether it’s a fitness app, a marketplace, or an edtech platform, the common thread is the social aspect. People return to apps that aren’t just tools but living communities where they can interact, share, and engage.

For app-first companies, building habit-forming engagement is the key to growth. A social layer - like feeds, discussions, or chat, ensures that your app isn’t just a one-time utility but an essential part of users' routines.

A successful example of this is EvolvX, a health-tech app known as “Netflix for healthcare”, which leveraged our social feed to revolutionize user-coach interactions. This is why our Theme of the Month is Social Feed.

But first, let’s dive into our latest updates from last month.

Feature Parity

  1. Managing your chatbot just got easier. Our dashboard now allows chatbot configurations without code, alongside essential bug fixes for a smoother experience. This update is now live across all platforms.
  1. A personalized feed experience is now available on Android & React Native, bringing a more tailored content discovery to users. It’s already live on Flutter and will launch for ReactJS & iOS in Q2.
  1. Users on Flutter can now scroll to replied conversations effortlessly, making chats more intuitive. This feature was already available across other tech stacks.
  1. The ability to edit profiles via SDK is now supported on Android, making profile personalization seamless.

New Features

January was focused on making the app experience more seamless and user-friendly.

  1. Polls in chat just got more powerful with new settings for duration, anonymity, and result visibility, giving users more control over their polls. This feature is live on Flutter and is set for a Q2 release across other platforms.
  1. Users can now zoom into images within the media preview screen, enhancing the media-viewing experience. This is currently available in Flutter, with a planned rollout for Q2 across all tech stacks.
  1. To improve message clarity, a single-user image will now appear for multiple messages from the same sender, reducing clutter in conversations. This update is planned for Q2 2025.
  1. Reading PDFs inside the app is now seamless with the new in-app PDF viewer, eliminating the need for external apps. This feature is set for Q2 2025 across all platforms.
  1. Developers can now sync chatroom tags via API, making it easier to categorize and filter chatrooms. This enhancement is planned for Q2 2025.
  1. Finally, for a more immersive chat experience, Dark Theme is now available on Flutter, bringing a sleek, user-friendly interface. It will be extended to other platforms in Q2 2025.

Theme of the month - Social Feed

Last year, LikeMinds partnered with Laminar (an OTT platform) to expand their product offerings and enable their clients to launch in-app social use cases. One of their clients - EvolvX integrated our Social Feed to drive app engagement.

By enabling users to showcase transformations, interact with coaches and peers, and discuss fitness journeys, EvolvX saw:

  • Higher user retention & session time
  • Increased trust & responsiveness for new users

"Users no longer felt lost after a workout; they could immediately engage with coaches and peers. This made EvolvX feel more trustworthy and interactive." – Puneet Rao, Founder, EvolvX

How Social Feed elevates engagement & monetization:

  • Keep users hooked with real-time discussions & content sharing
  • Increase UGC-driven organic reach
  • Enable premium user interactions for monetization

If you’re also looking to enhance engagement and drive monetization through UGC, let’s connect.
